For the seventh year in a row, a five-day international festival of gastronomy has begun in Supetar on the island of Brac, organized by the Alliance of Mediterranean and European regions cooks, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism.
International Festival of Gastronomy ‘Biser Mora’ - Pearl of the Sea, runs until Sunday, and the chefs compete in several categories all of which can be monitored by the audience because they cooks in open.
The festival will be attended by numerous prominent chefs from around the world ; the star of "Jezikova juha " culinary show, Stephan Macchi, Elena Suchkova, owner of one of the most famous chocolate school in Moscow, three times European champion in chocolate and sweets, international judge of WACS from Saudi Arabia, Thomas A. Gugler, rector of the prestigious Polish Academy of hospitality management and gastronomy, Roman David Tauber, and Emilio Cook, one of the most renowned culinary judges in Italy.
Stalls are open to visitors to see each individual segment, which gives an interactive character to the competition.
In addition to competition, festival includes lectures, tastings, themed evenings,round tables, entertainment program, including the chefs' race in Neretva boats and Fair of producers.
At the festival, guests will enjoy an evening of Macedonian, Bosnian, Indian, Romanian and Albanian cuisine, taste the best Croatian wines, the best steak tartare, truffle specialties and "Velika teca" (dish in a large pan) that will be prepared on Supetar harbour.
On Sunday 1 April, at noon, join the special Brac marendin (buffet) at the ranch PALUTE (near the hotel Svpetrvs )
Brac island is known for its Golden horn - Zlatni Rat, probably most famous and most photographed Croatian beach. It is located in Bol, which is not far away from Supetar. So if you happen to come there, this beach is certainly worth a visit.
