Blanka Vlašić to Start Comeback at Adidas Grand Prix in New York

blanka-050613Blanka Vlašić, the four-time IAAF World Champion and second-best high jumper in history, will return to competition at the adidas Grand Prix in NYC on May 25 after missing the entire 2012 season to injury, she announced on her website.

“I am excited and eager to start competing,” said Vlašić from her hometown of Split, Croatia. “It has now been 14 months since I had my foot surgery. I had a few setbacks but the last six months my rehab and training have gone really well. It is with great motivation I am able to do what I love the most –to compete in the big meets. I have been able to recover and prepare myself with good and careful training and I really look forward to starting up at the adidas Grand Prix Diamond League...

Croatian student awarded for discovery of security flaws

First-year student Josip Franjković, an information technology major at RIT’s American College of Management and Technology in Zagreb, Croatia, is the recipient of awards from Google and Facebook for discovering security errors. He won multiple prizes and his name can be found on the Google Hall of Fame and Facebook’s Whitehat lists.
